Sachin Tendulkar - Top Ten Performances

During last two decades Sachin Tendulkar played many memorable innings in international cricket. Choosing his top 10 performance is a difficult ask, but here we are trying to figure out what are his top 10 performances. He started playing cricket in 1989 when Team India was on a tour of arc rival Pakistan. Since then he is a nightmare for bowlers.

During his debut series in Pakistan in 1989 when he was just 16 years of age, in 2nd test match at Faisalabad Sachin Tendulkar score a well compiled 59 runs against the likes of Imran Khan, Wasim Akram and Abdul Kadir, though that was not his very long innings but he showed at the age of 16 that what this man can do.

During final league match of coca cola cup in at Sharjah chasing a target of 276 runs set by Australia from 46 overs, India needed to get 237 to qualify for the final, Sachin Tendulkar scored a breath taking 143 of 131 balls with five massive six to take India to the final of coca cola cup. That was his one of the top performance. In the next match i.e. final of the coca cola cup batting first Australia scored a massive 272 runs from their 50 overs and again the great man steps up and scored 134 runs from 131 balls to win the match and series for Team India.

In 1999-2000 India toured Australia for 3 match test series, in second test match Melbourne Cricket Ground Sachin Tendulkar scored a classy 116 in first innings against the likes of Glen Mcgrath, Shane Warne though India lost the match but Sachin’s innings was a masterpiece.

In 2003 world cup in South Africa batting first arch rivals Pakistan Scored 273 runs from 50 overs and chasing that huge target Master Blaster smashed 98 runs from 75 balls to take India home in a very important clash.

In 2003-04 session Team India toured Pakistan for 3 match test series, during first test match Sachin Scored a magnificent 194 not out in first innings. India won that match very easily to go one up in the series.

On 5th December, 2009 during 5th ODI, at Hyderabad, of 7 match series between India and Australia batting first visitors scored a mammoth 350 runs from 50 overs, chasing a target of 351, Master Blaster played one of the best ODI innings ever. He scored 175 runs from 147 balls. He almost won the match for India but in the end India lost by just 3 runs but this innings of master would remain in the heart of millions cricket fans for years.

During first test match between India and England at Chennai in 2008-09 sessions Team India was chasing a target of 387 runs in forth innings which is almost impossible to achieve but the little man had some other ideas, he scored 103 not out to take India home. This was one of his best performances.

On 24th February 2010, at Gwalior in 2nd ODI of 3 match series between India and South Africa, the little champion become the first man on planet to score a double hundred in an ODI game scoring 200 not out from 147 balls and with the help of this innings India sealed the match by massive 153 runs and took unbeatable lead in the series.

In 2010 during India’s tour of South Africa, Sachin Tendulkar again showed his class when he scored a well crafted century to complete half century of test centuries scoring 111 not out in second innings at Super Sports Park, Centurion.
